Books
I love reading books. There is something about being in a comfortable place, turning page by page and letting your mind wonder in thoughts stimulated by what you read. I have read many books in my life yet there remain so many still to be discovered. But the ones you can find bellow left a special mark on me and thus I recomment them to you as well...
- Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach
A beautiful story of a seagull who, unlike the rest of his flock, devotes his life to discovering the beauty of flying, the art in which he finds a purpose of his life and follows his dream until he reaches new levels of being and eventually becomes a teacher for others. One of the most beautiful books about learning, discovery, following one's passion and the topic of leadership.
- The Alchemist by Paolo Coelho
An amazing book about traveling, looking and finding a sense in one's life and about the importance of the journey itself. By following a path of a sheppard traveling to find a treasure one has many opportunities to reflect about own journeys in life.
- Presence by Scharmer, Jaworski, Flowers and Senge
One of the most interesting books I have ever read, speaks about enacting a change in people, society and complex systems and gives a tool to solve many of the today's most complex and pressing problem. Very phylosophical, yet practical and definitely very inspirational to read. For anyone wanting to change the world...
- The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R.Covey
A classic book about leadership, describes practical steps towards personal leadership connected to being a leader toward yourself and people around you. Very meaningful, all the Habits have become a very useful and confirmed discoveries throughout my experiences in life.
- Ishmael by Daniel Quinn
The entire book is a dialogue between a man and a gorilla, seeking an answer to what is the role of humans in the context of nature and looking at human cultural and society paradigms that are leading us in todays world. Very interesting, challenging and in many ways shocking account of humanity.
- Who Moved My Cheese? by Spencer Johnson
Great book about changes in our lives and how to best deal with them, the story of two mice that find themselves in a situation that requires change when one day the source of their food runs out. The lessons involved though are real and very useful yet simple and practical and useful for both individuals and organizations.
- Manual of the Warrior of Light by Paolo Coelho
Beautiful collection of thoughts to help us lead better lives towards our dreams. There are many I could relate to and found very comforting to find such thoughts in the recollection of someone else's experiences.
- Like the Flowing River by Paolo Coelho
Collection of short stories with a lot of meaning, about life, about people, about things that happen to us in our lives. Recommend to read the story about the pencil, climbing mountains and seeing the whole through its parts.
- The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway
Story from the famous writer of the Lost Generation, describing journey of expatriates to a fiest in Pamplona but also a journey into finding a path to follow in their lives.
- The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery
Classic story of a little space traveller giving us the chance to discover new worlds but mainly an opportunity to realize many things about ourselves and the world we live in.
- Gung Ho! by Ken Blanchard
A simple yet powerful story about few principles that can change any organization towards higher performance but mainly also towards higher meaning and fulfillment.
- Synchronicity by Joseph Jaworski
One of the most inspirational personal stories that I have read, the author describes his journey from a high-class lawyer to establishing American Leadership Forum, to being in charge for a scenario planning in Shell. The journey is full of looking for meaning, synchronicity of different occuring events, scientific and phylosophical insights and most importantly, very empowering for anyone wanting to make a difference in the world.
