AIESEC

AIESEC is one of the largest student organizations in the world offering its member’s unique opportunities for complex personal development aimed at developing internationally minded leadership relevant for the 21st Century in 100 current member countries. AIESEC is also a very special organization that I have given 6 years of my life and received back so much it is hard to describe. Following is a short reflection on what AIESEC means for me.

To be in AIESEC is a very empowering experience, the world that is constructed there, is a world where we strive for the world of can be rather then the world that has to be. The world of possible rather than full of fears, the world of listening and dialogue rather than judgment and division, the world of friendship rather then hostility, the world of love and compassion rather then hate and anger. Although not everything is perfect all the time, unlike any organization or group of people I have ever been connected to, very often AIESEC gets very close to an ideal it strives for.

Existing for nearly 60 years, spreading and proving its relevance in over 100 members countries, dynamic and changing every year and leaving behind generations and generations of young people with a will and skill to change. Applying and experimenting with newest cutting edge theories and approaches, interacting with the corporate and learning the importance of fundraising with an offer of value rather then request for charity, constantly re-shaping itself and questioning how better to fulfill it vision in the rapidly changing world of today and tomorrow.

All of this and much more is AIESEC, many individual, team and group dreams that are being taken into pieces every day in order to be put back at last, re-shaped and stronger and ready to be fulfilled, there are most likely as many definitions and things that makes AIESEC and being in AIESEC unique as there are members all around the world being part of this beautiful organization. One look at an IC plenary before the session, dancing, talking, with sparkles in people’s eyes, anxious expectations and common goal, incredible energy and will to become, to become a gate for the potential to emerge, one look and you too will know why I call AIESEC a beautiful organization.

During my 6 years AIESEC Experience, I have done following things.

  • Served one year at AIESEC International, the global office of AIESEC, working in a multicultural team of amazing people from 16 countries as a Director for Central and Eastern European countries.
  • Lead AIESEC in the Czech Republic for an unforgettable year together with 6 amazing people, being the final responsible for an organization with over 200 members and 8 local committees.
  • Developed my training and facilitation skills as a member of National Trainer's Team
  • Lead the local committee in Prague as a member of the executive board towards the national award as well as managed a portfolio of 10 local partners.
  • Managed and lead a small sales team of 4 people towards their first experiences and results.

Although today I am an AIESEC Alumni, I know that this special organization will always be part of who I am and that I will always stay connected to it and strive to help and support, driven by my gratefullness for what I have received during those 6 years. I am open mainly for following engagements.

  • Chairing conferences (already chaired in Poland, Macedonia and Finland)
  • Coaching and mentoring
  • Providing training and development experiences for members
  • Giving advice or consultancy
  • Sharing my AIESEC Experience and inspiration for AIESEC members
